International Conference on Gender - Conference Booklet

The conference will cover multiple areas. Through keynote speeches, parallel panels, learning groups and experiential workshops, we will illustrate the development of women's services in a diversified manner. Each event will discuss different themes. Participants can choose one event each in the morning and afternoon session according to their interests.

The Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres (Women’s Centres), founded in 1981, celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2021. At a time when Hong Kong society cares more about women’s rights, Women’s Centres collaborated with The Gender Research Centre, Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, and the Gender Studies Programme of The Chinese University of Hong Kong to co-organize an international conference on gender “Moving Towards Gender Equality and A Sustainable Society" 10 December 2021. This Conference aims to bring together experts and practitioners in promoting gender equality, leverage it from the macro level, identify the change theory and encourage exchanges among Conference participants to incorporate gender analysis and the change theory into social work practices. It will explore the development of women's human rights from the fields of gender and law, unpaid care work, women’s economic empowerment, women's wellness, and gender education, and explore how to improve local community services from a gender perspective.
