一名12歲女童昨日在旺角被防暴警員攔腰撲倒地上及制服，香港婦女中心協會發聲明關注女童身心精神健康狀況，呼籲警方在大型執法行動上保持克制，並尊重兒童權益，避免使用不適當武力，導致兒童心靈及身體受損，香港作為《兒童權利公約》的適用地區，有責任履行公約條文。
香港兒童權利委員會亦對事件表示關注，聲明指出，根據新聞片段，女童當時身上完全沒有武器，認為警方制服女童時的舉動不符合「使用最低所需武力」的説法，質疑警方當時根本未有任何證據或合理懷疑，顯示女童有犯事或暴力行為。
委員會說，警方必須以最大努力維護兒童權利，防止類似粗暴行為再次發生，並應公開就處理未成年人士的指引，確保符合《兒童權利公約》。
