To celebrate the 20th anniversary of its own listing, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing has donated HK$20 million to the Community Chest of Hong Kong.
The money will go to 10 projects selected for being the most cost- effective and having the most impact, and benefiting 40,000 people.
They include two projects on increasing financial literacy of the public - "MoneyWise" run by the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society and "Financial Smarty" by the Hans Anderson Club.
Another three projects have themes of diversity and inclusion, poverty relief and environmental sustainability.
A program to empower women economically by the Hong Kong Federation of Women's Centres and another to target poor residents with hoarding habits by the Salvation Army are among the funded projects.
All projects funded by the HKEX Charity Partnership Programme will be launched from January to June 2021 with a two-to-three-year service period.
