身患病痛時，如果影響到生活，需要別人照顧，不論患者或照顧者或許都會有壓力。有調查發現，不少受訪照顧者面對中度及嚴重睡眠問題，約四成人說，每日平均睡眠時間只有3至5小時，約有七成受訪照顧者是獨力照顧。
調查在去年12月至今年2月進行，以網上問卷訪問約228名照顧者，當中約九成半是女性。負責調查的香港婦女中心協會指出，部分受訪者照顧者正面對經濟壓力、照顧工作量大等問題。協會認為，有需要及早識別高危照顧者並提供支援，同時促請政府增加長期照顧服務，包括增加院舍數目、改善院舍服務質素等。
